Richard Lampert, Milan 2012

Mash, folding chair, by Alexander Seifried for Richard Lampert
Mash is a humorous homage to the 1970 blackly comic anti-war film directed by Robert Altman. Inspired to a model of the 1960s, the folding chair has become a comfortable and quality piece of outdoor furniture. With its coloured trim, the weatherproof polyester net fabric, together with the solid oak armrests and the outdoor powder-coated steel frame it represents a modern interpretation of first-generation “camping” chairs.

Stijl, designed by Alexander Seifried, is a modern interpretation of the Alpine “corner bench”. Table and bench are made of solid bruce, lacquered in modern colours and produced in standard sizes or to measure.

Moroso, Milano 2012

Patricia Urquiola Biknit Easy Chair

Patricia Urquiola Biknit Easy Chair
"It’s Moroso’s 60th anniversary. This is a special year, the year of the water dragon
in the Chinese zodiac, representing the start and finish of a cycle completed every 60 years. A fascinating parallel, a metaphorical and temporal concurrence
which takes us into an imaginary dimension.
The dragon is the only mythological creature among the animals of the zodiac; its figure is associated with strength, harmony, health and fortune and it represents the ability to accomplish projects undertaken. On this basis Moroso presents, for the occasion of the Milan furniture fair, the new products and the previews of the 2012 collection."
Werner Aisslinger's Hemp Chair
"Moroso compie 60 anni.

Njustudio: Hockenheimer seat and other projects

Hockenheimer seat
Njustudio is an idea company and design studio from Coburg/ Germany - started up in 2010 by Wolfgang Rößler, Kathrin Lang, Tom Steinhöfer, Nina Wolf and Markus Mak. Njustudio have an holistic approach to projects but tinted with humour. Their Hockenheimer seat is the project I first knew from them but have a look also to the TopGir candleholder and PARASITE CITY - What happens with a postindustrial society at the 21th?
TopGir candleholder

Inspirational ideas from Vitra

The Vitra Home Collection is not a range of furnishings in uniform style. Vitra sees furnishings much more as a collage which changes through the course of time according to the preferences and personal circumstances of the owner. Here you'll see some of the inspirational ideas from the VitraHaus.

Sebastian Herkner at Milan Salone del Mobile 2012

Waiting to see the first two projects with Moroso of Sebastian Herkner at the Salone del Mobile (Milan, Italy, 17 April – 22 April) next week, we have some sneak previews about his work.
“The 'Bell Table' - by Sebastian Herkner for ClassiCon - turns our perceptual habits on their head, using the lightweight, fragile material of glass as base for a metal top that seems to float above it. Hand-blown in the traditional manner using a wooden mould, the transparent tinted glass base asserts a sculptural presence in space, contrasting intriguingly with the solid brass frame on top while also forming with it a harmonious unit recalling the elegant curving silhouette of a bell. With its appealing reflective surfaces and contrasting materials, the side table adds a distinctive touch to domestic interiors. It celebrates the beauty of the materials with their colors and surfaces, along with the virtues of hand-craftsmanship.”
iSaloni Rho, hall 20, stand D07
After the 'Clip Chair' in 2011, Sebastian Herkner presents other three new projects in collaboration with De Vorm: the 'Slim' chair , 'Arnhem' sofa and 'Coil' table.
Officina della Torneria, Via Novi 5, Zona Tortona.
More, at Milan you will also find the Felt Clock for LEFF Amsterdam at Museo Nazionale della Scienza e ella Tecnologia, Via Olona 6B, Zona Tortona and the glass set 'Norma', designed for Verreum and now available at Molteni&C, Fiera Milano Rho, hall 20, stand A01 - B02 - C02

Wayfare Pilot Issuu

Online the pilot edition of Wayfare, the travel/lifestyle magazine that celebrates the art of the journey. Wayfare is made up of a team of travelers, developers, expats, writers, photographers, and creative folks who bring their unique view to travel.
"Rather than designing a magazine for print and sticking it on the web, we wanted to rethink the way we engage with digital media and content.
We’ve incorporated a range of elements to make the magazine interactive, clickable, and participatory. There is sound, video, pop-ups, and hyperlinks throughout, so you can not only learn more about the people and places featured, but also about the amazing contributors behind the articles." — Anne & Lauren, the design team.
You can read and download it on Issuu .

— Anne & Lauren, design team.
